The countdown's now on for The Big Bang

We're looking forward to meeting you at Manchester Central from 11th to 13th March - and we hope you're looking forward to what's sure to be an amazing day out.

We've some great CPD workshops lined up for teachers and lecturers on Saturday 13th March at The Big Bang. You can book 2 of these great workshops now - plus we have more coming soon.

Please note:

You will need to be booked in to attend The Big Bang on Saturday 13th March before you can book these workshops.

If you are already booked in for Saturday - simply login - then click 'book activity' alongside your chosen workshop.

If you have booked to attend The Big Bang on either Thursday or Friday, you will need to make a NEW booking for the Saturday, using a different email address from the one used for your Thursday or Friday booking. Once you have booked to attend The Big Bang on saturday, you can then book the workshops you wish to join. Hurry - Register for Saturday here!

Some seats still available!

If you haven't yet booked a show for your students - or you'd like them to see MORE THAN ONE show - seats are still available for Punk Science or The Royal Institution Lectures - but they're filling up fast!

As of 8th March 2010 spaces were available in the following workshops - and you can book more than one!

The workshops only cater for 30 students at a time, so you'll need to book alternative time slots, or workshops, if you have a larger group.

From ecology to electronics, farming to fashion and space to surgery - The Big Bang has something for ALL 9-19's. Plus it’s FREE to get in! Both you and your students are guaranteed a great day out - plus you will discover new and exciting ways of exploring science, engineering, technology and innovation with your class.

Jam packed with educational exhibits, hands-on workshops and fun, yet inspirational shows – The Big Bang will teach your students how engineering and science shape our everyday lives. Plus with plenty of apprentices, technicians, scientists and engineers on hand to quiz about careers, your students will leave inspired with ideas for their future and the subjects to pick for their options. 

Your students will also find inspiration by the bucket load from the National Science & Engineering Competition finalists showcasing their projects at The Fair. All aged between 11 and 19, these innovative students will ‘tell all’ about the thrills of reaching the finals – and having a stand amongst the big household names! Teachers & students gave The Big Bang the thumbs up...

Teacher and students at The Big BangBoth students and teachers agreed that their visit to The Big Bang was a fun and useful day.Over 5,000 students visited in March this year - and 78% said that it opened their eyes to the breadth of exciting careers to be had in science, engineering, technology and maths (STEM). What’s more, 64% of students felt more positive about studying STEM, and choosing STEM subjects post 16.
